Dear Heena,

Thanks for looking on the web site www.beatroot.org.uk to check out the eco friendly efforts we're making at Beatroot. To answer your questions on the recycling...we recycle the glass bottles and paper , but the food containers ( made from paper that is sourced from European sustainable forests) can't be recycled due to them being in contact with food. Just to let you know that Beatroot is also powered by electricity from by 100% wind power, which sends a sweet breeze though the place! Best wishes, Edward

Although I eat here often, I've not really thought about the food boxes. I was thinking about using plates but it'd hard for staff to measure quantity of food, they'd increase their outgoings in terms of staff needed to wash up/dishwasher costs etc. Then I went on line&saw that they they use Eco food cartons,Belu water (sold in biodegradable bottles)&cutlery is made from natural wood fibres -http://is.gd/mgh5 I wonder how they dispose of the things deposited in the bin in their restaurant.
